A lot of firsts for me so far today and it is still three hours until we land in Oslo.
My first flight into Newark.
My first over-night flight.
My first flight overseas.
My first time change of more than an hour (six actually!)
My first in-flight meal.
My first ride in an extra large plane (Extra large: 8 seats across, I'm in 20D)
On my flight from BOS to EWR I met a girl named Britt (say Breeet), from Norway. She had been at MIT working on her architecture Phd. She is so nice and looks like my cousin Marit. She gave me her business card and told me to write her when I was in Oslo in July. She is actually on this flight right now (EWR to OSL) but about 20 rows back. Right now this older man is sitting next to me, he is from Ireland. He was visiting his son in NYC. Brian likes to talk a lot which is good because so do I (especially when I am excited!) It was difficult leaving Patrick yesterday, we were both upset at the airport, but I think he knows that this time apart will go by quickly. At least I know it will for me.
Passengers were told not to sleep on the floors, which I found funny, because you know someone had to try it in order for them to have to announce that. So far I am still very excited, switched my wrist watch as soon as I got on the plane - like the Frank Turner song "Jet Lag".
